Have you ever tried to write a little something about yourself? It's not easy. Where do I begin? How much should I tell? Do inquiring minds really want to know?

I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin ... the list goes on. My grandkids call me Granny Annie, my friends call me Annie and my husband calls me Honey.

My studio: It takes over most of my basement space, and that's where I shoot during the winter months. Don't be surprised if I drag you all over my house to shoot. Everything in my home has been used as a photo prop at one time or another. In the spring and summer I prefer shooting outdoors using natural light and God's decor.

What's the difference?

My natural light photography is sometimes very colorful and usually more artsy. My studio light photography is crisp and clean, more commercial looking. I like the look of each. The choice is yours.

How do I shoot?

Well, not like those chain studios, that's for sure. I care. I take my time. I'm a professional photographer, not an hourly employee. Every photoshoot is unique. Because every person is different, every day is different, light changes, moods change, the sun, the moon and the stars all line up differently at any given moment! You won't get photos that look exactly like someone else's photos. Ever. If that's what you want, I'm not your girl.

I shoot what I see, I shoot what is happening at the time. I capture a glance, a look, a smile, a frown, an intimate moment between two people or a puppy and her owner. I capture the moments that would get away, perhaps unnoticed, if I had not been there to record them. Sometimes I gently encourage a pose but most of the time I just talk and while we're talking, I shoot pictures. It's all very laid back, relaxed, friendly and most of all ... FUN.

I'm artistic, creative, I get my thrill from shooting an image and then turning it into something beautiful, a work of art, so to speak. I love making people look great.

Portrait Photography, it's what I do. It's where my heart is and where my passion lies.
